Two-Frame City

TWINS reframes the city as a durational two-frame film, where minimal photographic difference reveals urban matter as unstable installation.

Each pair records the same found urban configuration twice, moments apart, allowing cones, refuse bags, tarpaulins, barriers, debris, pavements and curbs to appear as unstable installations already composed by the city itself. The second image is therefore not a duplicate but an ontological disturbance: it breaks the authority of the single photograph and replaces visual certainty with interval, vibration and minimal change. Within Socioplastics, TWINS becomes both archive and method. Its long duration and trans-urban scale demonstrate that precarious balance, provisional form and material drift recur across London, Madrid, Mexico City, Berlin, Marseille and beyond, not as local anecdote but as a global grammar of urban self-sculpting. The project’s case-study force lies precisely in its restraint: by refusing intervention, spectacle and narrative progression, Lloveras reveals that contemporary urban reality is always already installed, always already doubled, and always in motion.
